EOS-05 (GISAT-1A) Tracker — Live Location

EOS-05, also known as GISAT-1A, is an ISRO Earth-observation satellite launched on 4 September 2026 by GSLV-F17, the 19th flight of India's Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle, from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. ISRO describes it as India's first ever imaging satellite from Geosynchronous orbit. This page tracks its estimated live location — latitude, longitude, altitude and velocity — propagated from published orbital elements with the SGP4 model, not live GPS.

EOS-05 is catalogued as NORAD number 100607 (international designator 2026-202A). It was placed in a Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit and ISRO is raising it through a series of manoeuvres toward a geostationary slot at 85.5° East, so its altitude and ground position change substantially between element updates.

Where is EOS-05 now?

EOS-05 / GISAT-1A is tracked from its latest available orbital elements. Its position is an estimate from SGP4 propagation, updated as the page runs and refreshed when new CelesTrak data for catalog number 100607 (written as the Alpha-5 identifier "A0607" in two-line element sets) is published. If no orbital data is available, the page says so — it never falls back to showing a different satellite.

EOS-05 current orbit

The post-launch insertion orbit is roughly 155 km by 30,970 km, inclined about 19.33°, with an orbital period near 9 hours. After the first orbit-raising manoeuvre on 5 September 2026, ISRO reported an estimated orbit of about 20,000 km by 31,129 km. The target is a circular geostationary orbit near 35,786 km at 85.5° East.

Mission design / launch profile

These are ISRO's planned pre-launch values, not the current orbit: planned insertion into a Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (Sub-GTO) with a nominal perigee of 170 km, a nominal apogee of 28,934 km, a nominal inclination of 19.28° (±0.1°), an argument of perigee of 178° (±0.5°) and a launch azimuth of 104°. The EOS-05 spacecraft has a payload mass of about 2,367 kg.

Launch vehicle — GSLV-F17

GSLV-F17 was the 19th flight of India's GSLV. The vehicle stood 51.7 m tall with a lift-off mass of 420.5 tonnes and a 4 m-diameter ogive composite payload fairing, in a three-stage configuration: an S139 solid core with four L40H liquid strap-on engines (first stage, GS1), a GL40HT liquid second stage (GS2), and a CUS15 cryogenic upper stage (GS3).

Event order from the ISRO mission brochure (no per-event timings were published): S139 core and four L40H strap-ons ignite at lift-off; L40H strap-ons separate; first stage (GS1) separates; second stage (GS2) ignites; interstage 1/2 M separates; payload fairing separates; second stage separates and the cryogenic upper stage (CUS15) ignites; cryogenic stage burns to orbit; EOS-05 spacecraft separates.
