The International Space Station (ISS) is a large crewed spacecraft orbiting Earth at about 408 km. Built and run jointly by NASA, Roscosmos, ESA, JAXA and CSA, it has been continuously occupied since November 2000 and serves as a microgravity research laboratory. It circles Earth every 92 minutes.
